• Chinese Cooking Class - Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs

    Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs is a famous Shanghai dish, which is made with 1-2 inch pieces of ribs. Ribs are marinated in a soy sauce, sugar, and Vinegar mixture and cooked until the marinade caramelizes around the meat. The ribs are so flavorful that they're finger-licking good.

  • Class Experience

    We will learn how to make delicious Asian dishes - Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs. The students will follow me one step by one step to make the Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs together. We will learn how to clean and prepare the ingredients, practice the ingredient's names in Chinese. The students will learn how to cook the ribs with yummy sweet & sour sauce. The students can ask questions at any time. During the class, we will use a knife and cutting board to prepare the food. No Chinese language or cooking experience needed. Just your passion for Chinese Culture and food.

    Parental Guidance

    In this class, we will use a knife. cutting board, stove while cooking with parental guidance. The ingredients include short ribs, Chinese cooking wine, light and dark sauce, and sugar. For learners with food allergies and food sensitivities, please read the ingredient carefully.

  • Ingredients

    1 pound spare ribs, cut into 1 to 1.5 inch sections
    2 tablespoons cooking oil
    1/3 sugar ( brown or white )
    1/4 cup dark soy sauce
    2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine or Rice wine ( optional )
    1/4 black vinegar
    5 ginger slices
    4 green onion white parts
    hot water as needed
    1/2 tablespoon white sesame seed for garnishing ( optional )
    Spring onion for garnishing
